November Principal's Message

Administration’s Message:
We have entered the month of November and this means that the end of our first term is approaching. It also means that your child will receive their first report of the 2020-2021 school year - The Progress Report.
It is important to remember that the primary purpose of assessment and evaluation is to improve student learning.
Please read your child’s report carefully with this in mind.  Report cards will be sent home on Monday, November 23rd, 2020.
Interviews this reporting period will be held throughout the week through TEAMS. Teachers will schedule an interview through TEAMS or by phone. If your child is progressing well and you still require an interview, please request one by writing a note in the agenda or on your child’s TEAMS page.
When discussing your child’s performance with his/her teacher(s), it is important to focus on ways in which we can work together to support your child. Celebrate their success and constructively address areas of improvement.
The first two weeks of November include special topics of discussion and events planned around Treaties Recognition Week, Remembrance Day and Bullying Awareness Week. During Treaties recognition week students will learn the importance of Treaties and Treaty Relationships, learning about the culture and perspectives of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Peoples.
We will have a smaller scale, Virtual Remembrance Day Celebration / Liturgy as a school on Nov. 11th. More emphasis will be placed on classroom learning and the message surrounding our call to be Peacekeepers in our school, homes, and community.
Our "Caught you caring Campaign" will run the week of Nov.16th -20th. Our focus will be sharing and spreading the gift of kindness to others during this week.
We conclude the month with a Professional Activity day on November 27th. Students will be pleased to have a short week.
We are truly blessed to have such wonderful children in our school community. Although we are living through a Pandemic, their enthusiasm and positive energy fill us with hope each day and remind us of the many blessings that surround us.
Many thanks to all families for your continued support!
